CETEX Macro synthetic fiber for industrial industrial and structural 3D concrete reinforcement

MacroFIBER PP : The Future of Concrete Reinforcem

POLYPROPYLENE MACROFIBER

CETEX Macro Polypropylene Fibers are high-strength, synthetic structural fibers designed to provide a superior alternative to conventional steel reinforcement and steel fibers. Unlike micro-fibers, which target plastic shrinkage cracks, CETEX Macro-fibers are engineered to improve the post-crack residual strength of concrete.

By creating a three-dimensional reinforcement matrix, our Macro-fibers offer high energy absorption and "toughness," making them the ideal choice for ground-supported slabs, shotcrete, and heavy industrial applications.

Primary Applications

  • Industrial Flooring: Replace steel mesh in warehouse floors and manufacturing units to speed up construction and eliminate corrosion.
  • Tunnels & Mining (Shotcrete): Provides high Joule-rating energy absorption for primary linings and rock-face stabilization.
  • Concrete Roads & PQC: Significantly enhances the fatigue resistance and durability of highway pavements.
  • Precast Concrete: Ideal for heavy-duty precast segments, manhole covers, and concrete pipes.
  • Marine Structures: Perfect for docks, jetties, and coastal walls where steel reinforcement would be destroyed by salt-water corrosion.

Why Switch to CETEX Macro-Fibers?

  • Corrosion-Free Longevity: Macro PP fibers do not rust. This prevents internal concrete "spalling" and extends the lifespan of the structure by decades compared to steel-reinforced concrete.
  • High Energy Absorption: Especially in shotcrete, macro-fibers provide excellent ductility, allowing the concrete to handle stress without brittle failure.
  • Labor & Time Savings: Eliminate the time-consuming process of cutting, bending, and placing steel mesh. Macro-fibers are added directly into the concrete mix.
  • Three-Dimensional Reinforcement: Unlike steel mesh (which only protects one plane), macro-fibers are distributed throughout the entire depth of the concrete, reinforcing every cubic inch.
  • Reduced Wear on Equipment: Unlike steel fibers, synthetic macro-fibers are "gentle" on concrete pumps and hoses, reducing maintenance costs.

Dosage & Mixing Guidelines

  • Standard Dosage: Generally ranges from 2.0 kg to 6.0 kg per cubic meter ($m^3$), depending on the engineering requirements and the steel mesh being replaced.
  • Mixing Instructions: Macro-fibers should be added at the batching plant or directly into the RMC truck. Rotate the drum at maximum speed for 5–10 minutes to ensure a uniform 3D distribution. The unique surface finish of CETEX fibers prevents "balling" and ensures perfect dispersion.

The CETEX "Float Test" Quality Standard

Technical Note: For structural reinforcement, the purity of the polymer is critical. Adulterated fibers containing heavy fillers will have low tensile strength and will sink in water. CETEX Macro-fibers have a specific gravity of 0.91. If your macro-fiber sinks, it is not 100% virgin polypropylene and will not provide the structural integrity your project requires.
